Tool Notary is run by Media Yard LLC. This page says what we keep, in full.
If you check a page
We open the address you typed in a browser of our own and show you what it offers AI agents. We do not ask who you are. To stop one caller using the whole service, we count checks per network address for an hour, in memory, and then forget it.
The page you check is a public page. If the site is in our daily record, what we saw is already part of that record.
If you sign up
We keep three things:
- your email address
- the site you asked us to watch
- the plan you asked about
We do not keep your name or your network address. To limit sign-ups per caller we store a scrambled form of the address that changes every day and cannot be turned back into it.
We add the site to our daily look and give you a link to a private watch page for it. The link is the only key to that page, and the page shows what the site offers agents, which is public, and nothing about you.
We use your email address to tell you once when paid plans open. We do not sell it, share it, or send you anything else.
How we count visits
We count so that we can see what to improve. We do it two ways, and neither sets a cookie or follows you to another site.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script from our host, counts page views, where visitors came from and how fast the page loaded. It does not use cookies or build a profile of you.
- We keep our own daily totals: how many checks were run, how they turned out, how many people signed up, and which public sites were checked. These are counts per day. They do not record who asked.
What this site loads
The pages and fonts are served from toolnotary.com. The one thing loaded from elsewhere is the Cloudflare Web Analytics script described above. No cookies are set. Our host, Cloudflare, sees each request in order to answer it.
To be removed
Write to hello@plainnumber.com from the address you signed up with and we will delete your sign-up.
If you run a site we visit
Our crawler identifies itself as ToolNotaryBot, loads one page a day, obeys robots.txt and never calls a tool. To be left out, disallow ToolNotaryBot in robots.txt or write to the address above.
